totally agree.. to many people put their own pleasure before the needs of their children. if anyone has kiddies and their 'new' partner is not prepared to be second in line then get rid! after all boyfriend and girlfriends come and go but your children are always your children.. i have heard too many heartbreaking stories from kids who have been second best in the parents search for 'love', what greater and more enduring love can there possibly be than that of your children.
once they are old enough to look for their own partners then it is time for mom or dad to put themselves first.. sorry it sounds harsh but that is the way it should be.. at least thats what i think..

omg all the dates ive turned down to make sure my littel simon felt loved..aww bless him xxx

I am truly with you Brian and Simon's mum - can you inagine if you got it wrong even just a couple of times how ...... up the kids would be!!
Funny I picked up a newspaper at my mum's today and there was an article in there about Paul Ross's wife and his four daughters from his first marriage. She was saying how she has never had any kids of her own and when she married him, how high her expectations were of playing happy families but the kids were really funny to begin with. Sounds like they were really playing mind games with her - as kids do cos they are so blooming clever arent they!
It reminded me of a story that a friend told me about when he married someone who had two boys and they obviously didnt like him. One weekend the couple went away for the weekend and granny came to look after the boys. When they got back the boys had taken all the photos out of frames and cut his head out of them and re framed them. I really saw the funny side of that one rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing When he related the story to me though he was dead serious and really upset and couldnt see the funny side at all. Maybe I have a sick sense of humour or maybe I just know how kids think - bet they got the reaction they wanted though.

i am totally for the children.. they did not ask to be born and so we as parent owe them everything. after they are here and it is our duty ,,, yes duty, to see that they have all they need in the way of love and security. we must put our own sefilsh needs aside for the few years that they need us. is that really too much to ask??
