I saw a profile that said the same - it had no pic!

Maybe don't be so harsh unless you are beating off hundreds of eager women. There can be many acceptable reasons for not putting up a picture, ranging from shyness or fear of identity theft to those working in an public areas not wishing to be recognised by the general public.

It wouldn't hurt much to exchange an email or two and then ask if they could upload a picture to photobucket or some such site. At that stage there should be no reason for them not to have shared their image with you and you should feel no guilt about refusing further contact.

I've no issues with regard to a user not having a pic, I certainly dont automatically assume something fishy or sinister about it. If I read a profile that sounds interesting/catches my attention I'd give them a shout, regardless of whether they had a picture.

I'm in contact with someone whom had no pic up, for her own reasons, but, nice, interesting lady, she sent me one after exchanging a few mails when I enquired. One of my best friends, whom I met a couple of year back on another site I was in contact with her for a while before recieving a pic of her.

If a person is crazy, or has something to hide you can generally tell by there mannerisms, turn of phrase etc rather than by a mere picture.

I should add, if say a lady is married, she aint gonna throw up a pic of her on her wedding day, or if she's crazy she aint gonna put up a pic of her in a strait jacket or banging her head off a wall and/or boiling a bunny!

It's surprising how many alcoholics post pictures of themselves with a drink and make repeated remarks on their profile about enjoying 'a glass of wine'. Really? just one glass?

I went out with one of those once and she drank 6 small bottles of wine in a couple of hours while repeating the mantra, "I hope you don't think I'm an alcoholic". I kept replying, "well, it's none of my business", which at that stage I had decided it definitely wasn't. When she bought two large bottles to take home I thought it was time to split and leave her to enjoy her 'glass of wine'.

She had several pictures up. Go figure!

i use to be 100% no pic - no reply because if i can upload 2 or 3 theres no reason u can upload one.. shy guys are certainly not my type... however i was bored of receieving the same old mails during the summer so one week i decided to reply to 4 faceless pics..

2 turned out to be weird over pestering askin for my num or a date yet when i showed any interest you wouldn hear from them for weeks.. another was a total nutjob - and the last a total sweer heart, was chattin to him on nd of for a few months before i saw or asked for a pic when i did he was excatly my type tall dark and handsome his personailty awesome its at the stage where we talk for jours on end on the phone or skype and have a few things planned out for over christmas..

Totally agree. While I would prefer to see a photo, if I like the profile of the person mailing me I'll ask for a photo by PM/eCard. For example two palefaces contacted me last week, they seemed like nice guys and happily sent photos privately when requested. Both cute but prefer not to put up photos owing to the jobs they do. Sometimes I think we pay too much attention to looks anyway (myself included) but a relationship is more than skin deep. Lecture over.
