US Senate declares the entire USA to be a "Battleground".
By NikkiClark87 | Posted December 2, 2011 | Ohio

A bill passed late last night (93-7 votes) that declares the entire United States of America a battleground. What this means is that the U.S. Military can now operate with impunity, and grant the U.S. Military the unchecked power to arrest, detain, interrogate, and even assassinate United States citizens with impunity.

What this means is the United States is basically declaring war with itself. We need to shed light on this and make sure it does not become a law, otherwise we should just say good bye to the Bill of Rights and everything America used to stand for.

Here is the link to the bill in question.

What's your take on this?

it borders on the inside of a military ran country...ultimate democracy fails as history has proven a few times...we are slowly losing out rights...one by one...we no longer seem to be governing but being governed...i dont like it at all...

My first take is it is 679 pages long!! Could you at least have pointed out the part that pertinent to the statement you made? I appreciate you putting the source but what page?

I don't know if you actually read what is in the document but when I use the "find" feature I can not find any of the words you used such as "arrest, detain, interrogate, assassinate" I really hope you read it and did not just take someones word on it. When you post statements like this I would hope you can direct us to where it actually says this. After all, it is extremely serious. Please reply.

You are right, Niko.
I am sorry, I thought I already had posted a thread on this and that this one was a followup. It's not here, so my "afterthought" is that I posted about this in someone elses thread or in one of my own. It does have the references outlined in it.

I do have the pdf of this bill in my computer and I have read thru most of it. Yes, it is a lot to read, and do you think our Senators actually read it before voting? Sadly, most times they do Not!

Please give me some time to hunt it down as I am unsure where I posted the info.dunno

Thanks!

thanks!! I was using the wrong "find" function but still am looking for the "teeth". It is not that I don't want to know, I just am not the fastest reader,,I sure hope they read it before passing it. mt god!! can you imagine if they had to be tested like children to see if they did? I know just from living here all my life that the flow has been moving that way more and more. I really hope I don't have to live the next 50 years in a civil war or a police state.

They know that very soon people will be protesting everywhere and the army will take over to brake them up.

well, I did find on page 362 where it does not extend to UNITED STATES CITIZENS
16 AND LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS, but who knows what is in the rest of this "book"

here is another link that talks about the bill, and of course the comments of people seeing it in different views. The only way to really know is to read the entire bill, which is said to be a 962 page bill, though what I got from the first link was 600 plus pages. Lots of reading before knowing.

In my opinion, now would be a good time for Americans to move abroad.

I already scanned it top to bottom. Reading all the chapter headings and looking for details in sections of interest.

There are indeed signs that bad things are about to happen.
A new war in central Africa for example. And implementation of the Military Commissions Act within the US. Things that people might prefer to miss out on.

Look again. That mention only concerns one tiny part of one subsection. It would be really misleading to imagine that nothing in the bill will affect US citizens. The Military Commissions Act is pretty clear (by omission) that Americans will be declared enemy combatants. And that means the loss of ALL constitutional rights including life and liberty.

This bill in itself doesn't change much. But the stage is set for some serious tyranny.

Basically, Obama said he wouldn't sign this, he also said he would remove the patriot act and get the troops out of Iraq just after he was elected, both of which he failed to do. People during the 1930's didn't believe fascism would be such a threat, but it actually was. I know the US isn't fascist, but they are very similar.

Anyway, Obama's lawyers said it would be against international law, they never referenced anything about it being unconstitutional and they also said the executive already have the power to do this.

yep, I know Ray, I have posted many times about how trends led and how My late Stepfather went over this while thing many years ago,,,,and I look at today and everything we talked about,(what he had said) has happened in one was or another, I really had a busy day and only had barely a chance to read it in it's entirety, I am not surprised and understand all about the "setup" like many things such as playing pool or a business transaction, Chess, you get your "setup" and balls just fall in the hole. I think I was hoping that the eight ball didn't get sunk for another 50 years though....selfish?? yeah. But we are living in some very different times. At least I can say that I am most definitely.

I didn't know that Conrad. I was not even in the country when he was elected. So two strikes and that's just on that instance, I like reading your posts.

Agreed!, Especially when we are talking about absolutes. And if someone wants to blort out there opinion so be it but that is all it is until either it is past or like you said,,give us "stats" some "reference" to back it up....or just say I am "guessing"

As a college educated veteran myself who also joined as a volunteer it will indeed be interesting to see the stats as most of my fellow vet were not poor but rather average citizens who volunteered to join.

Can hardly wait for the proof as this will indeed shatter everything I know and believed and set me forth on a refreshing new way of thinking.

at no point does the word quoted... "battleground" appear in the bill.

if you cant even be honest about what the bill contains and need to fabricate quotes then i have no doubt that any of the other nonsense you claim is false too.

yes alot are not , US army has been recruiting from low income areas for some time , I don't need a link for you . You would have seen a example a few years ago leading an arab with what looked like a dogs lead around on his hands and knees . Well covered at the time where the US army draws manpower from . A good thing I think as the options open would not be so good for those recruited had they not been in the army . Have a little faith in the people running your country as they will want their jobs , nothing like the thought being kicked out of their jobs to sharpen an elected leaders mind .
