englishelegance: Hi Best well I am Irish decent, born in England as my father was from Belfast Northern Ireland and had to come here to get a job as he was a Catholic and as you may know catholics were in the min ority in Northern Ireland years ago due to English rule of the six counties. No,.. I for one will not be celebrating the Queens rule here. My father had it hard to make a living and had to leave his homeland because of the British Monarchy and Henry the 8th lust for many wives, he was in fact a Catholic before he decided to create a new religion to enable him to remarry...ie (Church of England).

Hi English Nice to see you again.

No problems for me as Royalty is not everyone's cup of tea. I try to move forward and leave history, religion and political intrigue in the past where it belongs. My husband was Irish so I still have connections there in County Louth.

I just have to admire a woman who has represented her country to the best of her ability for 60 years under difficult circumstances that's all.

Take care.

gypseyblue: im not a royalist and what ever celebrations she has will be of no interest to me , im sure any events held will be london
based so id like the north be be able to opt out of paying for them

Neither am I ,just have admiration for her strength of character and sheer will and determination at her age.

I think you'll find that there will be celebrations everywhere seeing as we are having an extra Bank Holiday, and the Queen herself is paying for much of her own personal pageantry, which will undoubtedly bring in revenue from the tourist as per usual.wine
