I miss mine too even though it was many years ago that he died.

It never stops, another aniversary and the memories are still as strong.

I am so sorry that you both are feeling this pain.

My dad, whom took me on when I was 2yrs old, split from my mom when I was 13 and now lives in Scotland with his second wife. I may never see him from one year to the next, but I could never imagine him not being there for me, on the other end of the phone. I feel he is just the greatest man ever! And I am sure you both must of felt the same about your dads. So I can empathize with you. hug

I share your sadness . I miss mine too . A father is usually the first man that a woman gets to know . Most dads are misunderstood , lonely and yet sweet and tender soles whom stay in our hearts and minds for ever . And yet the other men in a woman's life , themselves fathers of the next generation of children remain to be misunderstood and lonely .. Why ? Loved by one hated by the other .

on the other hand, simon & lydia, it speaks loudly that you each miss yor fathers. you were graced w/men in yor lives whom you respected, cherished & subsequently miss. you've been very lucky to've had such fathers. the depth of yor loss says something about the quality of his life. i suspect neither of them are very far away, having left behind such a dedicated love in a daughter.

But as for many others too, in my teenage years I did not get on so well with him for many reasons.

Just glad we got past that before he went...devil
