Father or Mother ( Archived) (4)

These are things that i have observed over a long period and it makes me sad. in my country (Jamaica)the media carries the quote ever so often "homes need fathers, fathers are not playing their roles" and without belittling the fact that this is true i can's help noticing one reason why many fathers are not there. it doesn't matter what a man does he will never get the love that a mother gets from his children unless that mother is downrightly disgusting and mean. but if both are being normal especially so if the father will stand up in the home and be a full man putting discipline where it is necessary punishment where it should be even while being the counseling dad, and a single provider and defender, he will not be loved like mom. if he keeps his mouth shut, keeps his hands at his side and put them in his pocket when asked to, only then may he get close to being loved like mom. look at how mother's day is treated as compared to father's day. for weeks before and after, people talk of it. on father's day however it reaches the day before it may be noticed by some. children obey father's out of fear while obeying mothers out of love. they will remember what their friend (mother) says even if she's not there but will wonder if dad will find out. i have seen where a child does a wrong thing and a mother who can deal with it says "you wait until your father get's here!" what grows in the mind of such a child? try and be as gently as Jesus and i tell you that the mother will still be loved. if there is a fight, dad can't be hurt so we don't ask him his story but let's comfort mom. the home is broken, i'm going with mom.

I beg to differ. one can earn respect not love. love is something you develope from various points sometimes where you least expect it from. that's why persons who find love usually do by being them selves and not pretend.
