Tim Hortons in Afghanistan......
Cost the Canadian taxpayer three point eight million dollars to subsidize the setup. 2300 troops. $ 1652 per soldier for the set up. Gonna need in the millions per year in taxpayer subsidy to kkep it going, apparently

Good Value??? Is the fact that more babies under the age of six die of starvation EVERY DAY than died in The world Trade Centre relevant. George W. started the war in Afghanistan, bombing for Peace. Those babies dying of starvation, one every three seconds...every day....not American....Hey! we're supporting George W's fear reaction, and our boys have Tim Horton's while they die to do it...They have to pay for the coffee.

Maybe someone could start a war on starvation???? Feed Babies, stead of Bombing for peace???? mumbling

Ya i agree. There are many significant tragedies happening daily around our globe. It drives me nuts to see what is happening in Africa (just too name one situation). Who decides whose life is worth more..NO body should be.
It is amazing how a "few crazy" leaders and their personal adgenda's can mess up our world. Bush and the N. Korea leader Kim too name a couple present wacko's. (And many dimwits in the past before them.) Then there's all the other country's leaders who just follow along...like a puppet and do nothing to effect real positive peaceful change. Very said i think.

WOW wow sigh

Sounds cheaper to donate a penny of every coffee sale to provide the troops free coffee on behalf of Tim's coffee drinkers...

Once a country...hey like the US... gets the toothpaste out of the tube, it's hard to put it back in. Just ask LBJ in the 60's. There is a great movie where the theme is this very point. It's called "Path to War". It stars Alec Baldwin as US Defense Seretary Bob Macnamara. Throughout the film it shows how LBJ agonized over his "Great Society" agendas continually being swept aside to finance the Viet Nam war. By 1968 the US was spending over 4 billion per year on this conflict, and thats 1968 dollars! Great political flick about how dollars are wasted to save national face.doh

I also believe if the Federal Gov't can put up 5 million for the Queen to spend 10 days here on her last visit...give our boys in Afghanistan their Timmies for God's sake. I know some think it is a waste of money but the government's just gonna waste it on something else anyway.canada
