Jeez...they are great craic!
I was actually only at the tail end of one the other day, someone had asked me to take them...sure we just made it before it finished.
I haggled away and got some lovely Newbridge Silver Napkin rings for a fiver...It does not matter that anyone who visits me will only ever eat take out on the couch with KFC napkins!...I NEEDED those napkin rings!
I am actually going to go back tomorrow and will update you on my findings....I know that you will all wait with baited breath in anticipation of this!!
So do any of you go to the car boot sales or have you ever gotten any bargains?
I actually find some of the old newspapers and stuff interesting..

I used to be addicted, but I kicked the habit laugh

It all started when I was about 10 yrs old, at an auction stall in The Bull Ring, Birmingham help

The buzz of seeing your man hitting his hammer (?) and saying "sold, to the young lady at the front" outweighed the distraught look on my mums face when I used to arrive home with cracked plates/china rabbits/glasses....."but it was a bargain"!!!!!!

I don't know why but I don't notice the Ballyshannon accent. When I moved here first people used to slag me that I would get the accent...maybe it is fairly close to a Cavan accent lol.

There are only 2 Donegal accents that really, really grate my nerves.....Ballyshannon/Bundoran and Gweedore doh

But you're right, the Ballyshannon accent would be similar to Cavan. THAT must be why we inherited you laugh

I should qualify that statement by saying, it's the female Gweedore accent that gets to me help

I think it has something to do with English being their second language, but I just can't listen to it frustrated

Oh you know people from Gweedore??
I love that accent, must be the mix of the English and the native language but it is a class accent..
Dont know how to double quote
@ Glengirl...Maybe cos I am a blow in but I find the Gweedore accent nothing like the Ballyshannon one.

You got a great bargain there, M. I love Carboot Sales myself but haven't been to one in years. My house is full of too much stuff already. Maybe I should set up a stall at one of them instead of buying more. However, I know I would end up coming home with more if I went anywhere near one. mumbling
