Some people have empathy and can imagine things without going through them personally. Some people cannot imagine things.

There are some things you cannot truly know exactly what it's like if you have not gone through them, but you can often have a general idea what it must be like.

I'd Imagine the people who have empathy already have experienced
some kind of trauma so can relate .

I think you really have to experience something like that for it
to really hit home blues

Empathy is possible without having experienced trauma or the same experience.
And those who have experienced the same thing are guided by their experience, thoughts and feelings, which can block them from understanding anothers experience, as we all experience things differently, emotionally, physically and mentally. Unless of course they have worked through their own experience and can consciously separate their experience, freeing them to take on another's experience.
Now with that blah blah blah blah I am off to mop my floors.

God I can't wait to get out tonight drinking
