montemonte: Trig.. I'll take ice cream any day over cookies
Jono...I had 4 cookies and had to give up on them. Too much sugar. I have a problem with leg cramps at night and realized that sugar is causing it. I shouldn't have had the 4 cookiies. Now I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping I don't get leg cramps in the middle of the night. I don't know if anyones ever had them but trust me, they are extremely painful and last quite a long time. They aren't just in the calf....it's the whole back and sometimes the front of my leg. Only thing that stops the pain is to lay perfectly still with the back of my leg flat on the bed.
Now I'm going to have some melon....what I should have had in the first place
ok monte...lol..following the previous conversation, it'll be hard to take this seriously and not as metaphor. but eat a banana in the evening before you go to bed and it may help you with those leg cramps. my doctor told me to eat a banana every evening...(for leg cramps). and it works. having said that... this particular post is not open for metaphoric jokes...
and if you miss your cookies, try making them with stevia or xylitol. i've been experimenting with them in baking for my friend who needs to avoid sugar.

Thanks Jono. Eating a banana implies ....nope, not gonna say it, I'll be good. Banannas have a lot of potassium. If that helps leg cramps it's definitely worth a try. Years ago doctors diagnosed leg cramps with quinine but it's against the law now to use quinine although you can buy seltzer with quinine but there isn't enough in it to help.

OMG Monts! Thats awful...I dont know about sugar causing leg cramps but I do know they can be caused by a lack of potassium ...Try a banana before bed and see if that helps...

That's what Jono suggested. When I don't eat any kind of sugar I don't get the leg cramps so that's enough proof for me. But when I haven't had sweets for a couple weeks I start to crave it and then I overdo it.
Those cramps are so bad that dealing with them scares me that I'm going to have a heart attack so I try to use bio-rythm to control my heartbeat. Even when the pain subsides the next day I still feel the strain of the pain. I know I shouldn't eat sugar. WHY DO I DO IT.

The fastest way I know to deal with them is to get out of bed and walk them off...Hurts like a mutha at first but they pass pretty quick...I just know that bananas help me with them.
For me the ideal night is dedicated to the witchcraft's rites, moonlight a clearing area in the woods, ten naked priestesses as assistants, can't say more than that, I do not want to scare you
