A mere four months after uttering this nonsense, Obama saw Solyndra file for bankruptcy, after squandering a half-billion in loan guarantees from the government.
This is the kind of money management and biz sense we need as our President?

What an idiot!!!
Solyndra is one of your right wing buzz words isn't it? A sure fire bet to piss people off. But do you know the whole story about why Solyndra went BK? I doubt it. You like all your ilk just likes to trot a flag word out there every chance you get. For your information US solar panel OEM's weren't the only group that were hurt in the solar panel world, so was the EU but I don't think you knew that and you certainly don't know why. Solyndra would have been a roaring success and created a ton of high paying manufacturing jobs but it didn't for reasons I can sum up in one word. DUMPING by you guessed it, CHINA.
So, if you want to get pissed at somebody or something, maybe you should redirect your trashmouth at the real culprit in all this, China, not the president. The president and don't forget the DOE's role in all this, stepped up to the plate to help a struggling industry in a struggling state, CA, and it failed. But at least he took a shot, like he did with GM. Some you win and some you lose. People never fail who never take a risk. Give me a risk taker any day to somebody who just sits there and does nothing all day.

Yes I know about China's dumping. Did you know that was in trouble from failed biz model before Solyndra got the loan. It's all over the net Solyndra was in deep trouble before the dumping.
As we watch U.S. solar start-ups go up in flames, it’s easy to blame China. On Thursday, in light of the federal investigation into now-bankrupt Solyndra, Reps. Henry Waxman (D., CA) and Diana DeGette (D., CO) asked the House Committee to examine whether heavily subsidized Chinese solar companies are skewing the market, and making it impossible for U.S. manufacturers to compete.
Reuters Solyndra President and Chief Executive Brian Harrison (L) and Chief Financial Officer W.G. Stover are sworn in before a House investigation panel on Friday.
And in Congressional testimony a week earlier, Jonathan Silver, head of the loan guarantee program that approved a $535 million loan Solyndra, said that even as Solyndra’s sales floundered, four Chinese competitors benefited from $20 billion in government support and “flooded the market with inexpensive panels.”
But with more than $1 billion in venture capital, plus the $535 million loan, Solyndra wasn’t exactly lacking in the financing department. It’s clear that its business model was deeply flawed, no matter the competition. “The company’s investors believed it would win, and the loan guarantee program did its job in enabling the company to scale operations, and providing the opportunity for the company to prove its technology a competitive option; failure to do so was the fault of Solyndra alone,” wrote Lux Research Analyst Matt Feinstein in a new report.
Like I said, some you win & some you lose. All you can hope for is that you win more often. I was invested in a co that was promised a loan guarantee by the DOE, We waited for nearly a year burning cash, it never came so the co was sold. If we got the loan guarantee from the DOE in time, today we'd be making 150,000 gallons of ethanol a week from weeds. Think of the pressure that would take off the corn crop.
