I've never met a Jamaican, so I would not be able to hazard a guess. But, generally speaking, there is never an 'all' when you are speaking of people of a culture, nation, gender, color, religion, size, shape, etc., and so on. I imagine Mugabe's observation is a simply an echo of some stereotype.

I don't know but maybe there is something here about as a black man, he has more leeway to criticize other black men, whereas it would be different if he were the French president putting down all Jamaican men. If there really *are* such dysfunctional aspects of 'a' society or race, *WHY* is it so??
It's easy to cast blame on something like people(s) lacking in ambition/motivation/organisation...but there may well be always reasons too...some *extremely* mitigating reasons for it.
And all casting a flippant insulting cliche does, is add more hurt, private shame, and harm to the equation.
God.....we NEED for World Leaders ESPECIALLY...to have REAL vision and insight...tempered by compassion, and understanding....wisdom...

This has of course caused an outrage among Jamaican´s,-and as Glen Harris says,."An African leader talking like this?",and,"Black man should stick up for each other..we´re all Africans"....Exactly who they´re gonna stick up against is not known.....
Mr.Mugabe,who gave an 3 hour long speech,(goodbye Castro),-also said,that:"they have no interest in higher education"....and the black Aryan continues..."Always drunk,and all they wanna do is sing...some are dreadlocked...let us not go there"....
