I don't think there's any easy way to break up with someone that you know loves you but you don't feel the same about them...is there?? I know being honest is the best option but that also means hurting them is too..

Anyone have any experiences of this??

Or have you ever been told by somebody that they just don't love you?? what way did they put it?? short and straight to the point??

well theres no nice or easy way to end a relationship...you're basically saying i dont want you anymore..crying

just end it, and leave..and duck out of the way of a flying saucepan! but dont drag it out, or you'll be late for the date with that cutie! bouquet

fast_and_furious: can I ask why her been a single mother makes you feel guiltier

I don't know...maybe because i know how hard it is being a single mother (used to live with my sister a few years ago) without the added burden of being told by somebody that they don't love you and probably never will...

There is no easy way, that's life. But the truth is the only way, if you avoid it, drag it out, it only makes the hurt 10x worse, and you become(rightly) the villain. The truth may make them hate you(for a short while), but in the long-term they'll respect you, whereas if they feel betrayed by you not being truthful, then that will stick for life. Honesty is (always) the best policy

Best not to beat around the bush and just come out with it. My last relationship i just told her i was sorry and that i didn't feel like it was going anywhere, which was the truth. She tried to say something and i just said 'i'm sorry' and left. If you try and explain or argue in these situations it just makes it worse... i did feel a bit bad about telling her, but i knew i'd done the right thing, and she realised it too, albeit after a bit of a cooling off period. But that's natural
