normally when people lie to your face they look up and to the left (your right if face on with them) and they blink a lot

Finnster: interesting!! Not looking for 'help'... just curious what people opinions on how sometimes you just know you're being lied to and other times not...
google it...there is lots of little tell tale signs if someone is lying to your face! They are just the two I remember.....if only I could remember not to look up and left when I am lying

Ah I don't know. Some people can't hide it, others can.
I suppose it would be easier to spot a person lying if you knew him(her) for some while, wouldn't it? But at the same time - it probably depends on a person as well. Some people are very good at lying. There could be a huge debates about what's a lie and what is not. Because we perceive things so differently, you know?

It's easier to detect a lie when we are not emotionally involved. A heroin addict's mother chooses to see her son/daughter as sweet,innocent baby not a thieving, lying, social outcast because that reality would be too painful.

mcattack: It's natural for everyone to look to to their left all the time, it's the side we read from etc. so everything is taken from the left...i think this is why dogs love us so much or something like that...they look from the left too...i could be wrong though..
