Here's a few cliff notes for the uninitiated:

Down the Country there was a perceived difference between people who lived in a town and those that lived on a green field site. Town people were universally called 'Townies'. Whereas Dubliners used to just call them all Culchies and Muck Savages and Boggers. laugh

im not sure this is really relevant in modern ireland, in the past it was probably an issue but im pretty sure lifestyle is on par whether it be country or town these days

it's 132 mile round trip for me to drive to a cinema or a get to a Tesco store sigh grin so no ,, for some of us ,, not quite on par grin

We are all people/human (well most of us laugh ) and I don't think you can divide it all up into "townies and boggers" doh
