OkieChic: we all have a different interpertation on to what is actually the truth, just because you don't believe in God, doesn't mean he doesn't exist...MHO

GOD is going to return to this earth to save man again from killing all life on earth.we do have the weapons to do so.

true...but I'll believe that he does...so that way, when I die...obviously I'll be covered either way...

if he does....well guess what...not a chance I'm going to take

if he doesn't, well then no harm done...

So you only believe in him because of fear that he may exist?

yes to a point, but more so of the experience that I've had in my life the day I believed....

it's so much more than that...the word "fear" is also complex...it's not always meaning your trembling in your shoes...

Thats your choice.

I was asked recently if my children believed, thankfully I could say no as I would feel I had failed them as parent if they did.

I just cant grasp how anyone can believe what to me is so obviously nonsense and fictitious. There may well have been a man around at some stage called Jesus who did good things but his story has been exaggerated beyond belief and as I have said previously I believe religion is the biggest and most successful scam ever created.

I read the bible a lot as a child and viewed it in the same way as I did my other story books.

Again I dont understand the need for there to be something else when we die. Yes I believe there is nothing after, dead is dead, I find that comforting, those that I have loved and died as simply gone.

so, obviously you don't believe in unseen forces...like good/evil---so I take it you don't believe we have a conscience----and if you do, what is that from?

Good/evil as unseen forces? confused

How on earth can you get that I dont believe in good or evil because I dont believe in ghosts?

Good/evil are human traits/acts nothing to do with the unseen.

See this is what I personally think....I believe in God

however, I believe in the bible, but I also think that the bible we have to today was formulated by the Roman Catholic church to "control" the people to a point

I think there is alot of stuff left out for a reason...

the main problem I have, is for the life of me I can't understand why in the middle east....back in Jesus day they had people called Matthew, Mark, Luke and John....those names did not exist back then...MHO
