saw your post on it . I have trouble holding on to mine with out getting a slimmer one . Covered in rubber would be better . JAYCAR are selling a waterproof one . Could be a goer as I like to keep one on my belt . Should be the end of the fire threat with hail and flooding on its way , bit of a thing though jumping from fire into the pan

give you an idea some the water proof ones around

though there is a cheaper model i liked the look of this one

the one you like is quite big dollar , well outside my skills to use it yet , JAYCAR's one is cheaper than the one I have but higher spec such is the way prices are moving . That one you like has GPS in it , could be handy for chasing dickheads shooting goats . You still have to learn to use the things as even a basic thing now has so many funtions its hard to keep up .
late here again , see ya round Robo wave

yep has a compass in it to, myself i liked what i read about it's macro abilities, an aspect that i think sounds really great, as its able to zoom in on small creators around us.
When i purchased my E500 a proper digital lens for it cost the usual $20,000...my eventual response was to purchase the ZX-1 for its macro ability, which I'm really happy with and was quite good work around, however the Tough - tg - 2 sounds even better.

The Olympus ZX-1 i purchased takes pretty good close up's, as its lens handles light really well, like in it will take clear pictures in the late evening when the E500 can't.
Also the Tough - tg - 2 video function sounded really good e.g. you can review a video in slow motion frame by frame that sounds interesting. While the ZX-1 takes pretty good video, ( e.g. example the sheep shearing video i posted other day) pretty good. I suspect the Olympus ZX-1 is forerunner to the Tough - tg - 2

Its water proof, crush resistance, supposed to be able to withstand damage if dropped.

sounded pretty good to me

Preferred cost effective method for electric fencing and tools (of cause constructed to meet my requirements under stick supervision) by farmer John.

First picture took is a THUNDERBIRD S40-B 5 km 12v solar unit powering a 9 AMP-H battery.

I used those rods 1982 when I was in Gisborne along with an aussie hardwood called in the post form insultimber . Cheap way to fence , but like all eletric fences you have to keep the rubbish of it . A bloke , Con Platten developed the system and some of the clips for them , though not that clip . Con Platten was an engineer about the same time you were in the army , I don't know where he served .Good bloke , his son tried to get into the army to . At the time you had to just about fight your way in . Guy joined the Navy .

i only use them here for temporary fencing, the boundary fence in that paddock is stuffed, though i patched it up, ran the electric fence along it to insure the cows didn't get out, the last photo winter before last break fed calving cows on it for couple months

i've never liked the iron-bark droppers partly because they will burn and are not as easy to carry as the fiber glass polls

couple of links to Spider Fencing NZ:

Its come along way from what John Holdsworth started making in Gisborne . he came from a farming family who farmed at Te Karaka . Those rods burn as well . After awhile those rods in the sun have sharp little splinters that go along way into your hands , good gloves are the order of the day to handle them .Con developed the clips and I think his younger son still has the patent for one . I was not the first to use them but was into them as they developed as my family knew Con many years before he started getting that going . The system worked alright .

doesn't look like John Holdsworth does fencing rods anymore . Companys all over the world now .Another thing their rod was used for was sails on yachts . Yea and Bronny Holdsworth could fill a teashirt no end .wow wow
