It depends on where you mean by public. If it's a pub or club or other social kind of venue, belt away sure. If it's a bank queue or just randomly on the street I wouldn't bother. Law of averages, as a young red blooded male, you will see loads of women you 'fancy' over the course of a typical day. If you were to try it on with all of them there wouldn't be any free time.
