My son is working in Canada and this is my first Christmas without him. Is there anything special or traditional that Canadians do. Do you celebrate Xmas eve or Xmas day? Please share with me so I can feel closer to what he may be doing.angel

On Xmas eve we often visit friends and neighbours for a drink. Xmas day is the main tradtional practice of opening presents, and early evening, the big dinner. French Canadians usually place the accent on Xmas eve. Starting with a big party, food, drinks, often goes all night. Paws

Thank you Paws.I hope he makes a few friends so he wont be alone. We celebrated xmas eve due to German ancestry but also did Christmas day as that is the tradition here in Australia.Hope you enjoy both days and the new year.angel
