While knowing that the best means to be sure of what you feel must, to one moment or to another, to bring to the meeting. Question... How to proceed to have a date when the "elected of your heart" is to thousands of miles of you and that it necessarily implies to foresee a stay there? Any opinions or experiences will be welcomed!!!

Get to know each other before planning that meeting.
Many would say to meet soon, however, sometimes that is not the best idea, it should be when you both are comfortable.
Plan to share expenses, if possible, meet halfway or make arrangements to switch off the place that you meet.
Be open minded and never assume anything about the other, this has happened and really caused strife in relationships of all types. Before making comments, think through what you want to say, most people forget that once something is said or written, it can not be taken back.
I will agree with some of the posts here by telling you to get to know that special person through email and of course through phone calls. You will know if he is the right one for you or as you said the "elected of your hear"
I took that chance this summer and went to see a special person who lives very far from me. I will admit I was frightened but I also knew that I was doing the right think but taking the chance. I knew everything was going to work out we he picked me up from the airport. I also knew things when right when I left because of the emotions I felt.
Thank you for your answers, but I wondered merely, seeing that here, people are of all horizons (New Zealand, USA, Germany, France or Canada, etc...), therefore that it was possible (well evidently after long, very long discussions and telephonic interviews!!!), that of the people who separate of the heaps of kilometers, want soon or later to meet! Imagine that one live in Italy and the other in Canada for example! Then... The real question is: How do they consider this first step toward the another one that is to the other tip of the earth? Not question here of whatever it is BEFORE this meeting (it is sensible that these two know themselves for a long time by other means!), what is interesting to know that is AFTER the decision taken to meet! Thank you again!
