A piece of real wood that is solid, stable, sound, and strong is cast far from you. You shall make use of it with no thought or conscience. It shall be of no value to you except for for the use. It functions alone, it ages alone, and alone it decays to the Earth.
A piece of real plastic that is flexible, unstable, with no soundness, and weak is embraced by you. You cherish it and place it in a place of honor with much thought and conscience. Though it is useless, you value it with love and service. It does not function, but is never alone, it ages within your arms, and when it decays to the Earth it is mourned with great tears.
One serves with dishonor. The other is served with honor. One is plain and the other shines. It is the shine that you love. In the shine you see your own reflection. Oh foolish one when will you learn.
