While at school, we had only one pathetic English book. Once a day, 45-min session, that was it! The rest of the subjects, I learnt them in our national language, Bahasa Malaysia.

I speak Cantonese and other local dialects to my family members, friends and neighbours.

I remember forming English words or sentences in my head before I could utter them out to my teachers. I was too shy to speak to any of the Caucasian tourists I stumbled upon in my village in fear they might laugh their heads off! uh oh

I've been told they are yummy and it was quite evident that they were when I used to go for dim sum with co-workers but I just couldn't do it. laugh Fish heads....kak for me thanks. laugh Har gow, siu mai, is more like it for me. grin
