I dont think it has anything to do with FL itself..How far away are these great ppl? Its difficult to pick up and move ANYWHERE let alone from say Oregon to FL...The cost itself would break me!! However I would figure it out if it were true love..And yea why cant you move to them??
Price of living down there is crazy, I mean, 800-1200 dollars for a one bedroom apartment, 1500-2500 for two bedroom, and they are all really small. Then taxes are crazy too.... no job's, unless you work at a motel/hotel.
I tried to move down there, had a job waiting on me and all. the job was painting those million dollar home along the coast. Not to mention those alligator grunt's in the backyard, freaked me out, fire ants with huge mound's in the yard made it scarey to mow, I was use to the sand in the yard, then those itty bitty snakes that are all around too, yes, I'll come down to see my family and visit, I'm not going to live down there.
I'm coming down for bike week, Hoping beachfarmer will come over and teach me to surf, lol.
Sun City, AZ.. 3 bedroom house on golf course (cheap), gas $2.29 a gallon, prime rib $3.29 a pound, Phoenix has many cultures, arts, several concerts every year, 3 hours to Mexico, 3 1/2 hours to Vegas, 6 hours to San Deigo, life is good.
I read recently that Arizona was the fastest-growing population in 2006. California actually lost approximately 300,000 people - some of which no doubt fled this state to AZ in search of even somewhat reasonable home prices.
