Yeah, but part of the good thing about this thread is that we can bring things like that back on here...if only in conversation. Its still good for the soul to be in pursuit of a better government. I mean, if everyone was always content with their current government there would be constant corruption and no government would benefit the people.
In Canada, education is free until grade 12 (well we pay municipal, provincial and federal taxes..which goes towards many services and programs). Post secondary education is not free.
Our health care is good and one of the better systems in the world. But not free. Each province has medical services fees to there respecitive provinces. In B.C. its called MSP - Medical Services Plan. It is based on family size and income..So the lower your earnings the less you pay. It is great in Canada, in that we do not recieve bills for going to the hospital, ER or to see our doctor. All we do is show our MSP or care card and we recieve no bill other than what we have to pay for our MSP coverage, which is very reasonable. Many employers in Canada pay part or all of our MSP coverage as well.
If I could change one thing about the government I believe it would be to enact a greed law governing the way the government does business. Too many officals are allowed to act on selfish endevores without any real consequences. At present, only hanious ventures are looked into.
snow caps are up higher darlin, past the NorthWest Territories and Alaska, i hope. Yikes.
In British Columbia it is relatively mild. The coast is warm, rains a lot and rarely snows. In the Okanagan where i am, interior of BC, it is known for one of the hotter places it Canada. (Okanagan Valley) We grow peaches and tons of fruit, not citrus though like down south where you are. We hit the high 30's and low 40's during the summer months. But yes we do get some snow. I do notice how the climate is changing though. We have had little snow this year. Scary.
So, if i were to run a new government, the environment would be a top priority. I would implement strict laws for big business such as auto makers..to help cut bad gases into our atmosphere.

I know they are higher up, but if they start melting you will feel the effects way before I do.
High 30s and low 40s? In F or C?
You are right about the enviroment...its very scary. Here in Cali there isnt really a difference, but I have family in South Dakota, and the are really feeling the effects.

Personally one thing I would change from my government would be that everyone in my new country would have free health care and education.
