bodleing2: "Historically, both the USA and Germany have engendered negative experiences by stigmatising parts of the population for their skin colour or religion. I call on high-level officials and scientists to stop the inappropriate stigmatisation of unvaccinated people, who include our patients, colleagues, and other fellow citizens, and to put extra effort into bringing society together."
Tulefell: Well, but we were living with it for more than a year now. I see three possible scenarios:
1. The virus disappears of itself, as happened with "Spanish" flu for a century ago. 2. The virus mutates, but within the range of the existing vaccines. 3. The virus mutates so much, that the existing vaccines wouldn't work. Then we would need new vaccines and yes, we will live with it, as the alternative is to die of it.
And there is always a possibility of other new viruses.
