Giblin’s scams date as far back as the early 2000s, authorities said – back when he was in his thirties, and long before Tinder, Bumble and other dating apps. He’s now 58.
On Lavalife, QuestChat and other dating services, Giblin went by “Pat,” a seemingly charismatic man who assured women that their weight, height and other physical features were not an issue, according to the federal criminal complaint. The complaint said he created numerous accounts in his name on dating sites in the United States and Canada.
Prosecutors say he’d message women on the sites, tell them he was seeking a long-term relationship with a “real, true, genuine woman,” and exchange phone numbers.
Giblin would then build a rapport with the women over long phone conversations before he started asking them for money, court documents said. He gave them various excuses for financial emergencies, including that his car broke down or that he needed funds to free up winnings from a gambling tournament, court documents said. "
No they don’t, and I am not about to go into the multiple trillion reasons why.
People will always lie, people will always believe lies. Those that don’t believe or tell lies for whatever reason could well be living a lie without knowing. All the madness this world tolerates can deal with lies very effectively. The fact we are alive is not a lie, or is that some conspiracy theory that may or may not be the lie of life.
“Above all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.” ? Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

Fuzz Greene: Legal stunts. Herewith, forthwith, pertaining to but not inclusive of. This is how people control us, isn't it? make it all so mysterious, the rest of us don't understand.
Cleaver Greene: Yes. It's why law and religion were in Latin for centuries, but then they realized they could make English just as incomprehensible as a dead language.
Fuzz Greene: So, if I understand you correctly, you make a living strangling words so a jury doesn't know which way is up.
Cleaver Greene: Yeah. We also get to wear wigs.
........
“Cleaver Greene: Let’s cut to the chase, Lawrence. What the hell possessed you to bust into this forum?
Lawrence Fenton: What these so-called important people are doing with words. The way they use language to actually hide what they mean. It’s a form of corruption. The writer, Don Watson, calls them ‘weasel words’, where corporations and governments complicate what they say so much that there is no longer any accountability or integrity. And once we stop believing in what is being said, once language loses its power to connect us, civilization is finished.”
I think in every romantic relationship there's what I call the "Big Reveal." It's the moment when you learn your significant other is hiding something important from you. It might not even be an outright lie - but rather a lie of "omission.," You just don't see fit to reveal something about yourself right away.
The issue is how you handle that revelation. It might be a dealbreaker or it might just be a "deal pauser." It may raise questions that need answers. I would recommend not waiting too long before you reveal your most unflattering truths to your partner.
I like to lead by listing the things about me that many people would find off-putting. For example, I am anti-woke and oppose the whole "men are toxic" movement. I like guns and own plenty of them. I have a young son that I spend a lot of my spare time with, though he doesn't live with me. I'm an atheist. A libertarian. Probably a "Sigma Male." Etc. Better to be upfront about yourself and not waste anyone's time.
There was this Engineer who was head of his department. After he died he left a letter. It seems in college he was in admissions after receiving his BS and the receptionist accidentally placed his information in the PHD pile. In his letter he stated his department never made a mistake and his people felt he was the best boss they ever had.
