May I take the liberty of re-phrasing Family Values? and answer to The Value of Family?

Family is very valuable.... they are the only ones who, when you arrive at the house, you dont have to knock on the door?... although you should, they will not castigate you if you enter and give a loud "Hello".

Family will always feed you when you're hungry.... and clothe you if you're cold.

They will (usually!) lend you money.. without a watertight agreement being signed and witnesses by a lawyer, and trust you to repay them.

When you've done something outstandingly clever and brilliant, you can brag to your family, without feeling foolish.

When you're feeling depressed, you can flop onto their settee, cry your eyes out and vent your feelings, without having to worry about being judged.

If you're stuck in a situation.... you can always phone your own family to rescue you.

Family is a precious commodity.wine beer

We all have values,Each to his own opinion what values mean.Values have not changed they have just followed the times we are living.Values change as everything changes. What we believed when we were younger changes as the children grow up.Now thou it has become easier for one to leaveve another and not stick it out for the childrens sake.As long as they are responsible for these children and love and care for them It's their life and they must live it as they think is best.

Good rephrasing Smoky when looking at it from the feminine or female viewpoint.
The men's version would be

when they arrive at the house, you would have to get out of bed, go down the stairs at all hours, to open the door, because invariably they forget the key, but never bother, because they know that you are always at home waiting for them.

They are the ones that can bang the door on arriving in the middle of the night and shout hello when half drunk, knowing that they are not going to be rebuked.

Family are your major headache when it comes to their needs. You have to clothe them and feed them or they'll bring down the house. And don't forget the firewood for warming them up when it is cold.....and the wine and the whisky, if the evening is particularly cold.

They will always come for the money, saying that they are only borrowing it, but never mean to return it.

When you have done something particularly clever and you want to tell them about it, they say that they are not interested to hear about it, because if it was that clever, they would be reading about it in tomorrow's papers.

When they're depressed, they just make sure you notice, so that you will run to their rescue, and save them the Phsychiatrist's bill and medication

When their car breaks down or when they're somewhere where nobody would be interested to go for them, they phone you up for help, and don't take no for an answer, sometimes even threatening suicide, if you dont answer immediately that you are already on the way to help.

Family may be a precious commodity, and the most certain way how to break your bank account.
