Remember those funny commericals when the teenage boy and teenage girl are in the car and the boy is trying to get into the girl's pants? By using that famous line "C'mon baby, everyone is doing it" or "If you love me, you will give me some". Does this or did this really work for or on anyone? I am drinking wine and getting to the point I have to spend a good 5 minutes to correct my spelling, so maybe I am just crazy, sitting in my room with solitude. Drinking this White Zinfandel wine, trying to get over how annoying people are as I recently discovered at work a few days ago. I dunno. AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! Okay ready? Get Set!........... GO!
It doesnt work for me personally, I learnt that along time ago, because at the end of the day it is up to me to decide what is right or wrong for me and me alone. I have made mistakes in my life, that was a learning process, but i did learn even in the hard way.I have also made good ones too so it balances out sometimes.

WoW. Thanks for replying. Have I been forgotten or something? People act like they don't know me. Today hate Random Stranger day? Oh well, perhaps I am annoying when I drink. Thanks Nuala, you are truly a blessing to us all.

Of course peer pressure works. All advertising is mass produced peer pressure. Manners and morals are only efforced by peer pressure. Men killing themselves at jobs and women being at all concerned about their body shape each stem from peer pressure.
Some people are better than others at resisting it but no one is immune unless they are a sociopath.
I disagree with all of that, unless you modify it to "peer pressure works on those who have low self esteem and no backbone, much less their own mind...Manners and morals are something you are taught (usually by your parents), and what they are depends on your teachers...Some people are better than others at resisting because they see how stupid it all is, and chose otherwise."
Sociopaths eh? That was so far off the mark that I laughed out loud. Using your logic, you just called people like Martin Luther King a sociopath. He certainly wasn't just going with the flow. Considering all his money and position, his peers would have been others like, well, Bush.
I found that back when I was a child, peer pressure always got the better of me, if it was my friends pressurising me. Now that I'm alot older, I make up my own mind.
Pete: Wait a minute. Who elected you leader of this outfit?
Ulysses Everett McGill: Well Pete, I figured it should be the one with the capacity for abstract thought. But if that ain't the consensus view, then hell, let's put it to a vote.
Pete: Suits me. I'm voting for yours truly.
Ulysses Everett McGill: Well I'm voting for yours truly too.
[Everett and Pete look at Delmar for the deciding vote]
