msn and yahoo have the same effect 
its brilliant and so fast, and i can still be on here as well. 
i prefer msn and/or yahoo to chat over the net,saves downloading more junk on to the pc

Skye, MSN & Yahoo are just ways to have private conversation. You plug in a mic and talk away, as if you were on the phone. Best thing is, its free

Yes, the other person also needs a computer and you both need to be using the same program, MSN to MSN etc. You listen to what they are saying either through earphones or your speakers, it is good and can save a fortune on phone bills.

I love talking on Skype, buuuut since my parents are always around I can't turn it on half the time cause they complain about it being too loud 
depends on the program you download,some you get so many free minutes to call with AND...you can call loads of different countries landlines free!
