Very expensive. I know people who have spent time in Tokyo. $6.00 Canadian for one apple. $30.00 for 1/4 lb ., of grapes. Take lots of money.

Never been there, but there was a programme on British TV about Kelly Osbourne spending a month there. If it's possible and you can get the chance to see it, it'll give you some good ideas where to go, and NOT to go.

very good idea. Some places to begin my be local libraries, some collage counsilors could direct you... Hmmm.
Also, anything online for searching.. books on history behind the cultures...

Tip: stay out of the Ginza entertainment district if you're not native after dark - it's mostly Yakuza-owned, and they do not take well to those that aren't native.
