Cheerios and Gatorade.

Really. Not being funny. My brother did it for two weeks and lost about 15 pounds.

BUT the trainer in me says make sure all the meat you eat is lean. Keep the carbs, don't do the all red meat thing. Just moderation and a variety. Lean deli turkey is one of my favorites, low fat, loaded with protein, inexpensive.

Ban me from this thread please, I won't shut up.

Lmao, it's not. lol BUT, a crash diet that works.

Bodybuilding.com has some great Forums, even for beginners with very detailed diets laid out. Just make sure it's not one of the bulk building diets.

A lot of it is change in lifestyle. Little things that you don't notice. Snacks at work...make sure you pack healthy snacks. Carrot sticks, raw cauliflower, etc. Neat fact, pickles are T-totally zippo, empty of calories if you need a salt fix.

Exercise, big fan of sprints. No marathon crap, just short full bore sprints, maybe half a blocks length, or if you have a big yard.

And as tacky as it first seems, TaeBo is FABULOUS. Great cardio, they have beginner tapes that won't kill ya, and you WILL sweat.

Crap, thought I was done. lol

If you have kids? You sabotage yourself. How many times do you finish the last couple bites of something they didn't finish? I'm the queen of it. You don't even realize you do it. lol

lol, you're right! I have two both teens though, sometimes they still do it and end up eating it. It's hard to throw food with some many people being hungry.

Having gone thru a triple by-pass at the tender age of 35, I try to eat fat free as much as possible. Meats, be it pork or beef, is as lean as I can get.
I'd eat venison if I could but with a new hunter following me during the season, he sounds like an elephant going thru the woods. :) Venison is one of the leanest meats you can get and is even more healthy for you than beef.
Also, a lot of green vegetables are good for you.
Besides the food, moderate excercise is good, even if you walk just a mile a day.

the best way to loss wieght in a healthy manner is ice water, the colder your drink is the better your body has to work hard to warm up the fluid and you burn in turn for your body doing something natural.second no pop at all. no juice ( apple and orange juice are the worst) skip breakfest eveyday, use sald plattes at dinner time so you eat smaller portions.

For me, it was just a matter of no regular cola, whole wheat instead of white bread, mustard instead of mayo, turkey instead of beef, etc.
If you do several little things like that, they add up. Stop the take-out, or just get subs instead of burgers. If you are looking for a long term fix, introduce these changes slowly, like 1 or 2 a week. If you try and starve yourself or change too much at once, you will likely rebound and go back to your old ways.
For the first couple months, I gave myself an out. Every Tuesday dinner was open for anything. One meal, whatever I wanted and as much as I wanted. If you know you have that coming in a couple days, it's easier to skip your cravings on the weekend. Like the changng everything above, thinking you can never have stuff will likely break your willpower.
I lost 40 pounds in 6 months (205 to 165) by this method. I have kept 30 of them off for the last year+ and eat as I want to now. Anytime I feel I'm gaining it back, I switch back to this for a couple weeks til I'm back down to 170.

I don't have much to add on this. I'm looking for the same ideas u are but i do know you shouldn't skip breakfast or any meals for that matter and it's a myth about grapefruit shrinking ur stomach. I'd love to try weight watchers but i can't afford the weekly meetings. I did have surgery not long ago and lost 13lbs in a week from the anesthetic so try some of that..LOL You used to be able to ask ur doctor for help but now they don't even help u with that. Well, i warned ya i wasn't helpful here..lol Good Luck!

Hiho,
i give you my impression and tips:

First of all, no fastfood >>> forget about about this low fat things, which I have been seen in the american supermarkets. Fat is `THE` taste carrier, so get regular milk you know what I mean, drink a lot water, forget beer, have a glass wine instead, if you like to. I use olive oil, for salats. Forget white bread..nothing in it, at least not what would route you to loose weight. Do at least 4-5 meals a day.. small one´s off course, fruits are fine, steak, yes steak, turkey mix it whith salads, but no creamy dressing - oil n´venegar.
The first 10 days you loose fast, but this gonna only water you´re body looses, after that, it´s getting slower - this is the time you really start loosing weight.
Remember fatcells you won´t loose, they shrink only, so if you intend to rise weight fast you got to watch out and life a disciplinated live.

I hope that will help
Lutz
