Most of NYs redeeming features are OUTSIDE of the city. I think that most people forget that NY is actually a state and not just the city itself.

NY state is beautiful,never been to the city..

kind of a messy and cold time to be visiting NYC, but if your into winter it's cool, lots of skiing, snowmobiling across the state.
Bad time of year for the lakes, etc.
I always love broadway and all the eateries.

I did the tourist things last time I was there a few months back, so this time I would like to see the other side - oh, and perhaps a nice walk around Central Park which I missed last time.
