I see a lot of people saying they like people who are older or a certain age because they are more "Mature". But what the funk does that mean? I met women who are like "Dude, you play video games? That is sooooo "immature." But yet they pee all over themselves when they are all about to go out and go shopping. I am confused here. Indulge me please.

came up with alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll kinds of metaphors and analogies....
made me laugh (and yes i'll get you back later for that!!! ouch)
so maturity is ...we all agreed not necessarily about age in the conventional time line sense of the word... because we have seen it in children of 4 yrs old....(.but i called it over ripe)
so that didn't really work either...over ripe is over ripe
mature is something like what my old tai chi teacher struggled with teaching me !!
has to do with being appropriate.
appropriate to what the moment demands/commands/asks for
no matter if you are 4 or 40 , what is appropriately mature for a 4 yr old, and what is appropriately mature for a 40 yr old
and this operative word 'appropriate' is not discriminating to circumstance or situation
so if you have for example a room full of 14yr olds and a 40 yr old the mature thing to do appropriately would be to get in it and play those video games!! with the wisdom that as the adult you have boundaries....
many adults are not wise or mature, and many children are wise and inappropriately so,
so for me maturity has to do with being appropriate to the moment, in my center.
it will allow my childishness her voice as well as the crone

To be mature doesn't mean to act a certain way not at all. It means to be able to responsibilities for your actions and standing up when you know your wrong. Its being able not to fight over every little thing and trying to better person while doing all of that.

I know some 24 year olds that I consider far more mature than some 44 year olds I know. Mature & Immature are just states of mind not to be confused with young and old
