John Schneider was in town yesterday to promote his movie "Collier & Company in Hot Persuit". It is based on the Hazzard series, has the 'General Lee' in it of course, has some other really nice cars also, and a Shelby F series (value at about a million dollars).
John spoke at my church after services and gave some of his background. He is a real down to earth person, he was wearing a Harley jacket, pull over shirt and plain khaki pants and tennis shoes.
Said he was trying to bring back 'family movies' that the whole family could go see at the same time, from youngsters to grand parents as a unit.
He had the 'General Lee' on display at the theater and was giving autographs to ticket holders for the movie. The theater manager came out and announced that John was donating all of his proceeds from "Collier and Company" for the next three days to be sent to Enterprise Alabama to help with the disaster relief and some home repair.
I am going to Enterprise with my church group next Saturday to help repair and clean-up efforts.
