Thats what I use, AVG, also the stinger, another good one is Avast worm removeral tool, which is also free.
I'll never go for Avast again, use to use Avast Home Edition, never again! Hated it, cheers for the heads up though, Lily / dudes. q=o)

avg free doesn't detect much i found,it would detect whilst doing a virus scan but not in real time.i'm using avast now,its a little do ur head in but it detects more in real time than avg did
norton anti virus?? i find that works quite well.
So I take it Avast's improved, then? Might consider trying it again... What's the average time, it takes to scan your hard drive? (I know it's dependant upon the amount of files on the hard drive)

It takes mine about 15/20 minutes. It is a drag, cos it slows everything down, but a small price to pay.
