Do you think it ok to state everything that you are looking for in a person in your profile or leave some things up to mystery?

Perhaps the mystery side would be the side that would be more attractive or?????

problem is this is an internet site and it is only 2 dimensional - people can't see when your leaving something to mystery (unless you can create the air of mystery in your profile)...

on the other hand most of us have an IDEA of what we are looking for in a partner but until that person comes along do we really know for sure what we are looking for????? dunno

I have no idea who would "be" my match - I could list the things I don't want in someone. Do we ever get all that we want - if you have your very lucky - I don't think it has anything to do with being shy in your profile, more with being reluctant to expose yourself. Besides it's all words and words are interpeted differently by each individual. When you say - you are looking for someone who is "romantic, or "makes me laugh" or "good looking" , your perception of this is not the same as the person reading it.
So we do our best at creating a profile that will catch someones eye and maybe,,,,,just maybe,,,,he or she will be that person we're looking for?

It's a good thread. Personally, I think I'm just here for company and I feel like I've got it. There are many people who come on from time to time and many regulars who are fun people. Also if you have a question that you're dealing with, throw it out here and you'll be surprised at the thoughtful answers you'll receive. As far as meeting my match, well that could be anyone and profiles are just what we want people to know. In the forums you can get to know a personality and a sense of what makes this person tick. I'm new to computers and I find this site well I'd like to say intreging but some people here don't like bad spelling

I'm with you on this Taz...I know more about what I 'don't' want than I know about what I do want. dunno

Personally, I'm not good with 'mysteries'... I like a tell-it-like-it-is approach...the rest will come when we're getting to know each other!!

Just my two cents.cheers
