Dude,
if you see freedom as an ACTIVITY (constant that is), then it seems superficial to quantify it (ie how much have you got). you either Do freedom or you Don't do freedom. As soon as you say i'm free here but not there, you ve lost the freedom of the first thing too.
Not that i mean freedom is doing everything. it's about you making choices THROUGH external restrictions.
ie. You're here because you want a partner, friend, whatever... as soon as you get it your choices are limited in half and there goes your freedom... UNLESS it's your choice to give these other choices away, which would mean you're still FREE. It's also about ACCEPTING others' choices (which is the hardest part).
Any sort of LIE undermines those choises, because they end up being about the lie, and not the actual situation.

What is Freedom? Freedom from what? When supermarkets were invented, people thought they now had more Freedom from tilling the land.
Now tilling the land is freedom from supermarkets.
Washing machines gave us more freedom from that mundane chore.... Now to have all morning, out in the sunshine, to do the laundry by hand, bashing it on rocks down by the river while chatting to friends doing the same... THAT would be Freedom.
Taking 2 weeks to clop along in an ox wagon to the nearest town has more Freedom in it than whizzing there in 2hrs by auto, collecting a speeding ticket worth a months groceries, full of pesticide residue, MSG, E210, E170,synthetic hormones, and other things that cause skin cancer, asthma, allergies, and suppressed immune systems.
So.... we got our Freedom, but what we doing with it?

We don't get our freedom unless we understand we get it and ACT upon that. There was a movie with jack nicholson quoting "freedom is overrated anyways", still, our emotions define what freedom means to us...

'Freedom', well it's a furniture store here in Australia, that may well be the irony of the whole idea of it, or should that be 'Ikea' Swedish version. ('How "free" are you really both physically and in your mind'). I think Ikea have it sorted, it out, it comes in a flat-pack 'so that takes care of the need to be physically challenged' and you have to put it together yourself, 'no matter how spiritual you are inclined to be' the instructions dont always make sense and what you end up with is a creation that is very personal to you alone, by this time your mind wants to play another game and your brain says lets go back to Freedom and just buy it already put together by someone else.
Yes "Smokes" I don't think "JJ" got it quite right back then ( Always though it was a bit of a downer- like popping speed and washing it down with southen comfort) can't ,fight/conrol/understand demons in that state

Answering the original post; yes, I'm free physically - sure I cant fly by flapping my arms but I'm free to try; if I'm free to think that I can fly, which thank god I am not.

Last time I felt this free I was twenty and I was broke.
Within the next 3 months I will have no employment retraints, no mortgage/house, no husband and my children all grown up doing their own thing! I will be freeeeeeeeeeee to do what I want, where I want, how I want....... And....... a fair few thousands pounds to play with!!!!!!!! This is the most exhilarating type of freedom I've ever had because with it all I also have peace of mind. Bring it on!
