or does it seem like, when somebody says good morning to you at 11:00am, you would think that that person is a little strange or too formal?
I mean, he's not saying anything wrong, but it just seems strange that it's still morning time at eleven. It doesn't feel like it's morning time anymore. Everybody is much more ctive and ready to eat lunch.
They just need to cancel that 'good morning' greeting out after eleven. It's not good morning, afternoon or good anything. Just leave it alone. Say "hello" or something.

I think it depends where you are from. Here (Barbados) everyone says good morning (whether they know you or not) up until noon. Once it is past twelve we say good afternoon and at five it becomes good evening. After seven the greeting of choice becomes good night, nothing to do with going to bed/sleep. My real life time does not match the forum time so that may be one explanation...
I think its perfectly acceptable to say "Good Morning" at eleven. Well, it is still morning........ not sure what you mean? Are you saying you have a problem with it or other people do? I have never come across anyone else having this dilemma....... Cancelling out "Good Morning" and using "Hello" just because its after eleven is quite bizarre.....Mmmmmm!
If this is the most you have to ponder about, life can't be all that bad, can it?? Therefore, just go with the flow.......
It seems pretty bizarre to good morning at that time, I guess it's because of where I am from. It's acceptable to say that, I'm not denying that. It just feels strange.
