Walking trails along the water, feels like walking at the edge of the world! Watching the seals feed in the early evening was a moving experience...Nature at its finest!
I found it a very romantic spot!
The people there are great as well.

I haven't travelled the world, furthest south I've been is Cleveland rolling on the floor laughing
However, I've been from coast to coast in Canada and I used to think Banff had to be the prettiest place in the world. That was thirty years ago and I went back and was disappointed to see the commercialization (is that a word?) and no Tim Hortons.
Jasper is beautiful too and the whole trip through the Rockies is really non stop breath taking.
There are other places in Canada where it's great to take someone who's never been, like Niagara Falls or the rolling hills of the maritimes. Northern Ontario with all the lakes and rivers and huge mosquitos.
Vacations can also depend on what you want to do, like camping, fishing, skiing or sightseeing.
Our country has it all. You could go to a different place every year for life and never see it all.

I agree the rockies are great. I have an aunt in the Banff area. A nice, beautiful place to visit.
If your not into skiing stay away from there in the winter though. It is damn cold. Yuck.

Vancouver Island is nice as well.

I lived for several years in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast where they used to film that TV show, The Beachcombers, and it is truly beautiful there, great vacation spot. You can head up to Mount Elphie, and camp out there, or they have some great bed and breakfastes all along the Sunshine Coast, but if that's what you'd prefer, a bed and breakfast, I would suggest looking into Roberts Creek. There is some really good fishing there, and if you should hit Gibsons around the end of July, better yet, they have what's called Sea Calavade, it's basically a weekend street party. Something to think about

Personally Jasper Banff, although a bit expensive.

Pigeon lake is always nice clean and did not get swimmers itch.
Any of the lakes you see in Alberta or British Columbia that you know also don't get swimmers itch from.
Can check online and get reports that are updated.

Hoodoos near Drumheller are very nice, The museum is located 6 km (4 mi) northwest of the town of Drumheller in southern Alberta’s Canadian Badlands (he Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller, Alberta)

Athabasca Country, "Our good nature beckons."
Only 90 minutes north of Edmonton, Athabasca Country serves as the gateway to your northern Alberta adventure. From incredible lakes and sunny beaches to the stunning northern lights and golf courses to challenge the most avid golfer, Athabasca Country has a lot to offer.

Canadian Rockies
Jasper National Park

100 Years Young...So Many Ways to Celebrate
Created in 1907, Jasper is the northernmost and largest of the Canadian Rockies national parks. With more wilderness terrain—10,878 sq km (4200 sq mi)—and less visitors than Banff, the park contains an extensive system of back country trails and healthy populations of some of our rarest wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves and caribou.
The many hot springs in Banff, and much more to see. Trails museums and plenty of shopping.

Alberta's Kananaskis is surrounded by the towering Canadian Rockies, with grassy meadows and brisk moving waters. Located just west of Calgary, Kananaskis Country is full of vacation activities for everyone. In the winter months, opportunities for skiing and snowboarding abound in Alberta's Kananaskis. Summertime, golfing, hiking, kayaking, and so much more are possible in the Canadian Rockies. Kananaskis Country offers warm western accommodations and hospitality, a bounty of things to do throughout the year, and all the amenities and comforts you need to make a visit unforgettable.

Edmonton loves its festivals and has spent many years creating and nurturing events that entertain all ages and accommodate all tastes. We are blessed with beautiful venues, year-round indoor halls such as the Francis Winspear Center and the Northern Jubilee Auditorium, and numerous outdoor sites along our verdant river valley and in our surrounding neighborhoods.

Thats just here, then there is beautiful British Columbia.
Well the above are some places I've been.
There are many many more, Ive been to.

A web site for Alberta.

One of many.

One for beautiful British Columbia

And you know why the west rocks.
peace
