Thanks for your input. No special license required for a boat. I already have my license to ride bike.
I am leaning toward getting a new bike. As someone stated earlier, with gas prices soaring it I could ride a bike endlessly and the boat would love the gas pumps.
Yea. get the bike. You are better off. I used to work at a marina here in Michigan Believe it or not, the area of Harrison Township, MI has more registered boaters per capita than any place else in the United States.
Boating is a pretty big thing here on the Great Lakes and there used to be quite a waiting list to get in any one of the big marinas like the one i worked at. Now there are a couple hundred empty wells where there used to be boats and for sale signs all over the area. Nobody can afford to be boaters anymore.
I still want to get a boat when i get back on my feet but it will not be a cabin cruiser like i have always wanted. i will probably end up with a small jet boat which does not cost much money to maintain and can fuel it on land most of the time to stay away from those expensive gas docks.
