I much prefer a sofa in Chinese red, solid, velvet; goes better with the Oriental/ African decor...%)

In designing the decor of my house I like to mix true and hard to find antique pieces with a superbly modern ones.. It brings charm and character to a room.
One of my favoirite couches dates of 1920's (my preferred fashion period) and of a full boudoir set. Very decadent and upholstered in royal red velvet. The carvings on the wood are incredible! with peacocks on the curvy arms. Oh, and there's a gold fringe around top and bottom. Not only it's rich in design, it's very comfy too.

I'm glad, Cristina, that you came up with this topic.....As I truly believe that the furniture (and everything else) we choose to surround ourselves with, in many ways, reflects our taste, style, character and yes, it does show our personalities on a deep level as well.

Blue is my favourite colour and i decided to decorate my living room walls sky blue matched up with a lightly patterned cheap [116 euros] sofa-bed. Curtains being natural beige colour with complimented blue stripes.

Hummm.... I painted my walls sort of vanilla broken white... and the sofas are modern style leather couches. Quite comfortable.
