No smoking in any public place here...something I kind of got used to. Have not been to a club here in a while, and probably just as well. The guys jockey up at the bar trying to come up with the best display for their Porsche and BMW keys...

I think it is sad the way so many clubs and such are closing down, or about to, because of these new smoking bans. Also that the "regulars" have lost their "cheers" bars, where they used to be able to go and meet up with friends and all.
Would be best to just have those clubs that allow smokers, and some that do not. At least that would be fair and leave people with choices, and businesses still open and thriving.

In the UK i heard that even smoking clucs (like specialist cigars) have to ban smoking

In a way I kind of understand the movement. Last year, I was back home in Michigan, having breakfast with a friend. After we were done, we could actually light up a cigarette (in the restaurant!), which, after five years here, felt very odd. I guess I have always been a little self-conscious of inflicting my habit upon others.
There's a little diner up the street from me here that I frequent often. Out front, there are ashtrays, and I more-or-less know all the old-timers as we hang out there. It's all good.

i can't believe you guys can still smoke in clubs and restaurants! in most countries it has been banned for 3-4 years... and its really good, no longer do my clothes stink like an ashtray after going out, no cigarrete burns and no smelly smoke! its really gross being out in europe and having to inhale other peoples toxic by-products...

LOL As far as the "stink" some complain about, I prefer that to BO or a lot of those perfumes and colognes people take a bath in. Sure don't want to get stuck within 25 feet of one of them either, but funny how they don't seem to get the same rap as smokers, even though they should know by now that a lot of people are allergic to perfumes and stuff.
