Hey guys......

Please help me with this problem:

I have to calculate the following:

1 pipe, ID=100mm
Steam through this pipe - 1500 kg/h
Density of the steam - 5.65 kg/m3

Can you tell me what the velocity would be?

No head pressure yet and no specific length, just need to know at what velocity the steam would travel.

if the diameter is internal then ya figure is equted to 56 kg per linner meter (56.5 in sig figs )you cant get a velocity unless the steam as a tractive force of displacement.........professor

Without head pressure, the steam wouldn't travel and so there would be ZERO velocity. Or am I completely off track?

Kinda' like a bullet in a gun with no propellant behind it... It's just going to sit there.

I fyou know the pressure you can find the force per unit area. Then you can find accelaration and velocity.
