They have green leaves and stems and bright redorange and white flowers, 2 toned and look like little paint brushes. They grow wild in the southwest. You will see many in the spring time along the Texas roadsides accompanied by bluebonnets. They are beautiful!
They are very prety , I had a great pic of one I took while hiking last year at 8000 ft but I lost it when I reformatted my PC , I guess I will have to go and take some more now :)
There are Indian paintbrush.... wild flowers that are all over our hill sides. They are red and are very pretty scattered every where. We have them because of our high elevation and it is desert like here, for them to grow as they do.
It is funny.... I never heard of them till I moved here and my kids were in science class. They were to collect all these plants that grow in the area and Indian paintbrush was one of them.
