ANGEL AT THE BUS STOP




There was still a steady rain when Amee trudged into the shelter at the bus stop that evening. Sitting heavily on the bench, she stared at a muddy gutter, and wondered when things would ever change. So much had been wrong; she felt she was slowly being crushed inside. The physical therapy after the auto accident was only supposed to be for a couple weeks. The weeks had stretched to months, and although she could walk now, she still fought for balance on her steps, and the numbing ache still robbed her of sleep most nights. Her broken collarbone still ached too, when it rained, like today. Her stomach growled, and she grimaced at the thought of food. All the medications were ruining her appetite. She was so tired of being sick. So tired of being tired. Amee sat lost in thought, as the rain dripped steadily off the awning.

Suddenly, Amee was aware of white service shoes in front of her line of vision. Startled, she followed the sturdy uniform-clad legs up to see pudgy tan hands clasped around an ample waist within a bright blue scrub shirt. She looked up into a pair of crinkled-rimmed kind brown eyes, and realized a woman was speaking to her.

"Ya all right, honey?" she was saying. Without warning, Amee burst into tears. In seconds, the woman had stepped close, and pulled Amee's head to her ample bosom, and held her quietly close. The moment passed, and Amee straightened up, apologizing profusely through her tears.

"Stop Amee," said the soft voice. "God knows when we're drowning, and need His touch. The sun will come out again for you." Gently she kissed Amee's forehead, and turned to walk away.

"Wait!" cried Amee, "How did you know my name?!"

"God knows all His children by name, child."

As Amee blinked in astonishment, the bus arrived, blocking her view. As she stood up, shaking her head, the voice came again. At the same moment as the breaking sunbeams. In the mist steaming off the pavement, Amee distinctly heard, "He knows you needed to be held in His arms, for just a moment. To hear His heartbeat. He sent me to wrap you in it today."

The Strong Floral Scent

About twenty-five years ago I was working a full-time job, trying to support my three young daughters on my own. I took a job a good hour's drive from my home, hoping to advance in this larger company.

One cold winter morning about 8:30, I was heading to work traveling on the service road as I had just exited the main highway. Suddenly I saw someone driving what looked to be seventy or eighty miles per hour coming out of one of the side streets onto the service road. When I noticed this car I panicked, knowing I was going to get hit because he was just a few feet from the side of my car. All I thought about was my daughters and I momentarily closed my eyes and prayed. By some miracle, this car missed me by inches. I was badly shaken but I kept going. Within moments I could smell a strong scent of extremely sweet flowers and began to calm down. I spoke to no one about this wonderful floral scent and the instant calmness, assuming people would think I was crazy because it was dead of winter here in the East, my car windows were closed and there were no flowers to be seen.

Years later I was speaking to a fellow Sunday School teacher, relating the calmness and floral scent, knowing she wouldn't think I was crazy. She looked at me and said, "That was your Guardian Angel sent by God to take care of you."

After that, I had no trouble telling anyone about this experience.

I can even count the number of times, that I have felt someone watchiing over me!

In the 60s my husband and I were in Cal.We had nothing ,lived in a dump of a motel.One day i saw an old man walking down the RR tracks and told my husband,Oh look at that poor old man.My husband said oh hes a bum.the next day I was washing in the wash house,I was alone when this tall man appeared at the door asking me if I could spare some food.He had a snow white beard ,his cloths were rumpled, but clean.But it was his piercing blue eyes that held my attention.I told him to wait, I had a glass of milk,a piece of cake and one piece of luncheon meat.I gave him all I had.My husband just had a fit.I never saw the man again.In the 80s my husband had been killed in 62.I was in Okla,visiting with my sunday school teacher, who once lived in Cal.He knew nothing of my encounter.He was telling about an incident with the same man.He fed him and his kids tried to watch him walk down the street and he just disappeared.I ask him to describe him.It was the same man,same time, only a long way from where I was.He said the piercing blue eyes he would never forget.Then I told him about my encounter.We knew then we had encounted an angel. Yes I believe

I'm a believer in angels I know because my son is up there and I know he is watching me and my daugther and grandchildren

it was just something i wondered about. i think we all have angels looking out for us and ready to help us, we just need to ask for their help.
