I would like to think so. I have no problem with folks no matter what race or color or country they come from. To me all the hatred is a bunch of crap. Why should someone hate someone for their skin color? I don't get it. it takes way to much energy to hate and just a llittle to love. I have better things to do than hate people. In my belief god made all of this and we are all a part of god. We are all related so i see no need to hate anyone. We have come a long way but we have a long way to go as i see it. In a perfect world we wouldn't have all this crap that we see. I teach my kids to love all people and to never judge one by the color of their skin or the country they live in. We need to teach the young ones to learn to get along to end this mess. HATE SUCKS!!!
All equal now? I would say "no" and sincerely hope we never reside in a world of "equality"(meaning "the same"). First of all, no two people (even identical twins) are equal to begin with. Legislation does not nor will ever make people equal. I wonder why anyone would strive to just merely be equal with someone else instead of being the best person and do the best in everything they do- regardless of individual circumstances. As per civil rights/social engineering- In the US, there are minority set asides for construction projects. In giving these projects to minorities, does this make them "equal" to other business owners who have worked hard to build and establish themselves? Obviously not. In education- Minority quotas (race taken into consideration) in certain colleges for admission. Is the student who was admitted because of this factor "equal" to all the other students who were accepted based solely on merit? Once again, no. "Equal justice"- idle rhetoric that ensnares all races, religions, and genders in all different geographical locations and cultures. "Equality" is one of those vague , nebulous, and subjective words and appears to me to be a very medicore thing to try to achieve.
As per South Africa- are the people as a whole better off (social, health, and financially... standard of living) under the leadership of the NAC (National African Congress) than when under Apartheid? I believe a quick Google search will suggest "no". This should serve as a prime example that equal rights does not translate into equality regardless of the powers that be.
gilly, don't even know how you could ask such a foolish question while African blacks are enslaving jews. Yeah, today, in this day and age, not 100 years ago. Take your rants to that cause why don't you.
