I saw the movie Serenity before I even head about the Joss Whedon series Firefly. My sister bought me season 1 on dvd. I absolutely relished every episodes, fell deeply in love with the characters, I ca neven sing the damn theme song by heart!only to have recently found out that thats it!!!! No more episodes have been made & Serenity was the 1 of the lowest grossing movies of last year, quashing the likelihood of a sequel. I realise that this is relatively old news but I've only just heard! My pain is fresh!
I just noticed your post. Yes, I am a Firefly fan, too. I have told several people about, but, typically, if I'm nuts over a series, it's doomed. I really liked Brimstone and Millenium, too. I guess I'm the kiss of death!
Firefly used to be on broadcast TV here in Minnesota, then was removed. Later, I found it again on satellite, but, I haven't seen it there any more, either.
I really enjoy the humor and character interaction of the series. I think it's GREAT!!! Also, it's good to see Ron Glass (Barney Miller) in a series again!
Like you I saw Serenity before the series, and adored them both. I vaguely remember the series being on television, but I seem to recall it being on a night when I was always busy... had I known, maybe I would have made myself unbusy! As for the sequel, Joss Whedon pretty much dismissed the idea in his commentaries on the Serenity DVD. The movie was released more to provide closure for the series. Besides... it just wouldn't be any fun without Wash, would it?
