Any ideas??? Been working on this thing for 2 days now and it never seems right. I havent finished school yet, and not sure how to word that. And I am just having all around trouble getting everything down that I want, without it being too long or cluttered
Yeah I have looked at a few sites, and most of them are just things that I already know, my biggest problem is how to word my school, since I am 2 terms from finishing I dont want to say that I have finished but I want them to know that I will finish
State your year or date of graduation after stating it on "Current" List. For example: Currrently pursuing MBA in International Business, June 2006- Sept 2008
Another question....my military time is split up between national guard and active duty....should I put it as all one consecutive job or split it up?? I was in the National guard before the ink was dry on my active duty discharge papers.
be careful not to over state your qualifications for each job. list the specifics, but leave some breathing space. keep in mind that any interview may generate questions on what you put, so be careful to state only to what you can answer. if you have a job history of many different places... also keep in mind that companies are going to focus on the amount of time you spent at each and be prepared to be very detailed on your reasons as to why you left each. preferrably... list the last three to four most recent jobs and detail any identifying experience from jbs before that in a narrative or remarks section. the advice on your education is good advice... list a completion date for schooling. it also doesnt hurt to list what percentile of the student body you are in, or maybe your grade point average. this is a good way of showing determination and a drive to finish what you start. there are many things that employers will look at in your resume, and you want them to see that they are not another "stepping stone" in your search, but rather someone that may go the distance long term with them. focus on what your qualifications can do to help them achieve their own goals... but again, leave room for them to ask you questions during interviews. i have been in the seat of looking at potential employee candidates, and i hope that some of this helps you :) good luck and great success!
yes... list it as one and just explain the varying dates in the narrative for that job :), but definitely list military time... in this day and age with world events... it gives credibility to your determination and many companies, believe it or not, look at people who have served with a certain type of respect. remember... the person responsible for looking at your resume, just might have served too.
