I had a rabbit back in Michigan. Not the manliest pet, sure, but sort of inherited from a friend of a friend. I named it Stu. Get it? Some found this morbid. "This is my rabbit..."

I gave him fresh vegetables and fruit. He loved fresh corn on the cob and carrots.

My rats also love fresh vegetables and fruit. They LOVE fresh corn on the cob. I give mine cooked chicken some times, they love chewing on the bones. It's supposed to be good for their teeth too.

yes, occasionally, I would give RAT a chicken bone. I feed my dog, fresh, boiled chicken daily, and once in a while give a bone with gristle to the rat.

There is an unexplained emptiness when a loved pet dies. I'm sorry you have to go through that. It's an awful feeling.

Hey don't feel silly for loving a pet..a pet is a pet..hell my kids got upset when their goldfish died and when we had their "sea burial" in the commode...tears all way around...and I felt so stupid..
