All I want in is a young partner with old-fashioned ideas about life.

I grew up without a television at home till my late teen years, but I understand advanced technology.

There is no substitute for a simple and happy life.

hey green grass couldn\t agree more I saw my first tv at 12 the old b/w set but when I was growing up as a kid we always had things to do wether it was billy carting or backyard footy, cricket or just ride ya bike. An old fashioned gal with the idea's to match is great life is so much thow shalt bow down to technology, what about the simple things in life, they were always the best and you have genuine fun without all the "plug in fun" hope you do well she is out there.

Going to work on a bicycle, not having a mobile phone that rings at unexpected times and being able to appreciate wonderful things in nature.

The poem I learnt in school

W. H. Davies
Leisure
WHAT is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?—

No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

I have stopped and thought about this most of the day.

Yes you are 100% correct though. There is no substitute for a simple happy life. But most of us Don't realise what a simple life is until they start finding themselves restricted by health Problems.

Although i support your Idea whole heartedly your post needs Quantifying slightly.

But if you had posted this on Internationals they would Of chewed you up and spat you out.

Are you asking for a partner that sits at home washing Ironing and looking after the kids waiting for you to arrive home and then lovingly places your meal on the table for you.

I don't believe you do but that is how the Woman would view it on the Internationals.

As I say I wish it was Possible to live with the Morals and scruples of the 40s and 50s. But it is not practical nor pluasible in this day and age (Unless you wish to go live with the Armish). But you could have a Family technology free day once a week. That includes parents.

No, I am not asking for a partner who stays at home all day. I have every possible gadget in my home, from the best dishwashers to advanced Sanyo eneloop batteries. Even food storage for those days the when weather is bad and you do not want to step out of the home.

I am also a good cook.

What I am looking for in a partner is someone who is just the opposite. Someone who is not a couch potato. Someone who does not spend all day in front of a TV or computer or in the kitchen . Someone who can come with me to Yoga or aerobics sessions. A woman who likes to ride a bicycle. Someone who can walk with me in a park, on the beach.

We can both throw away our mobile phones when we decide we want to do other things.

"Genuine fun" versus "plug in fun"

In this life gadgets are the most uninteresting of things. We train ourselves to create and use computers, cars, phones, internet etc., but the reality is we want to get away from them as fast as possible.

We long for the simple life.

I would not be on this website if I had a partner in my life.

That is so correct None of us would probably be on this site.

Getting back to the simple life. I also grew up in the simple life in the country, but do not wish to go back to that life style permanently. It is a very hard way of life for this day and age. It was different during the days of my youth as we hard a large family 8 in fact. Each one of us had our own chores to do each day so all the chores did not burden 2 or 3 people. As one gets older they are less able to do certain chores so it becomes necessary to have modern technology. But the simple life does have it's advantages still ie no electricity bills, phone, etc.

Modern technology brings with it huge problems. It has become easier for scammers and cheats to get away with anything. I remember burning the midnight oil doing an assignment in uni and a cheat stole my work using his mobile phone to photograph the assignment. I left it unattended during a short 5 minute lecture break.

Scammers on this website send me crap every few days.

A woman looking for a partner upto 99 years of age. How low do people stoop.

I often wonder if technology has in fact increased the numbers of people who have no self-worth.

A person has to be very careful in how he manages his life. No one wants problems.
